Our story

Fifteen years of raising English and French bulldogs in Southern California, and why this site exists now.

California Bulldog Association started as a family breeding program in Southern California. For about 15 years we raised English and French bulldogs, worked alongside other breeders in the region, and placed puppies with families across California.

Along the way we learned the parts of this breed that don't show up in puppy photos: how quickly bulldogs overheat, how much care their skin folds need, why most litters arrive by C-section, and how expensive vet care can get. We also saw how many families were hurt by scams and careless breeders.

What we do now

We've stopped breeding and no longer sell puppies or offer stud service. Instead, this site shares what we learned so you can:

  • Find a healthy English or French bulldog from a responsible breeder
  • Avoid the scams that target bulldog buyers
  • Budget honestly for the breed
  • Care for the things that matter most: breathing, skin, weight, and heat

Our YouTube channel still has years of videos of our dogs, including our French bulldog sire, Raider.

About this site

This site was rebuilt in 2026 by UniLocal Marketing, the Santa Ana marketing agency we run, so the guides load fast and stay easy to update as prices and recommendations change.

How we make money

We keep this site free by earning commissions on some products and services we recommend, like pet insurance and supplies. We also make Pawlistic Treats, single-ingredient treats we fed our own dogs, and we always say so when we mention them. Nobody can pay us to recommend them or to rank higher. Read the details in how we make money.

A note on health advice

Our guides come from years of hands-on experience, but we're not veterinarians. For anything about your own dog's health, talk to your vet.
